To the Woman Who…

As I sit here tonight, I write to you¬†the why.¬†ūü•ÄūüĆĻ

“I hold the pain of women in my heart. ¬†God has called me to it.” – Emily Wilson

This post was deeply inspired by the writings of Emily Wilson, that have resonated with me so deeply.

Just a week ago I began to realize just how deeply my heart saddens as I looked out to see the true hurt that women, [especially young women] go through in our world today.

My heart saddens at the fact that I may not be able to reach each and every one of those women & tell them just how loved they truly are.  That they may never even hear those words.  That they may not have a friend who listens to them and loves them even in the hurt.  Or that they may never get to know the true love of Jesus Christ for them.

My heart wishes to speak to every one of those women.

To the woman who…seeks a deep relationship with God – my heart longs to sit with her, guide her, teach her youth group class, invite her to bible study, be the friend she calls on bad days. Tell her of all the things she should and shouldn’t do so she won’t have to experience hurt & pain. ¬†I want to look her in the eyes as she goes through her darkest and most discouraging moments and say: ¬†You are so¬†loved. ¬†God has a plan for you far greater than you can ever imagine. ¬†He wants to say to you: You are my beloved daughter, and in you, I am well pleased. ¬†

To the woman who… feels alone,¬†forgotten, used. ¬†The woman who cries on her pillow,¬†drowning in the worry and anxieties that life brings her. ¬†To the woman who thinks this world would be better off without her.¬†To the woman who feels as though she cannot speak to anyone about her hurt and pain. ¬†I want to embrace her with God’s love and tell her:¬†You are not alone. ¬†You are LOVED & wanted. ¬†The¬†Lord your God goes before you & protects you. ¬†He is with you always. ¬†He is longing to embrace you with His love.¬†{run to Him who has great love for you}. ¬†His arms are open wide. ¬†

To the woman who…continues to seek her value in a man, the woman who¬†has given herself whole-heartedly to someone who does not treat her with dignity and true worth and continually finds herself in heartbreak. ¬†I want to look her in the eyes and confidently say:¬†You were made for more.¬†You are His¬†beautiful masterpiece. ¬†Never doubt your true worth. ¬†Our God loves you so deeply,¬†he died just to know¬†you.¬†Take heart, my¬†darling, He has a love planned for you far greater than you can ever imagine. ¬†Be patient and be prudent. ¬†

To the woman who… feels ashamed because of the things she has done. ¬†To the woman who feels like nobody can ever forgive her or love her. ¬†To the woman who feels that she is way too far from God to ever receive His love, I tell her:¬†He¬†loves you infinitely. ¬†He longs to embrace you. ¬†For his mercies are new every morning. ¬†(Lamentations 3:22-23). ¬†He loves you far too much to ever leave you or¬†forsake you. ¬†For it is in your darkest moments that he has been with you and¬†watched over you. He longs to give give you the grace of forgiveness, but first – you¬†must forgive yourself. ¬†

To the woman who…has¬†feelings of unworthiness because of how the world tells her she has to look. ¬†To the woman who call herself ugly or fat. To the girl who stands in front of the mirror and hates herself,¬†I want to stand right next to her & say with her:¬†You are¬†so worthy. ¬†You were crafted by the hand of a loving Father. ¬†He makes¬†no mistakes. ¬†Learn the of the love He has for you and you will learn to love yourself. ¬†Be kind to yourself. ¬†You are your own worst enemy sometimes. ¬†You are not a number on the scale, or the size of your pants, you are not the make-up you wear or the shoes on your feet. ¬†You are fearfully & wonderfully made. ¬†You are beautiful, my love, there is no flaw in you” (Song of Solomon 4:7). ¬†For¬†“man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.‚ÄĚ (1 Samuel 16:7)

To the woman who… is struggling with family crisis, divorce, abuse, or any kind of loss…I want to listen to the woman who feels as though she does not want to burden anyone by speaking or bringing up her problems. ¬†I want to come to her so badly and out of the pure kindness of my heart say the words she may want to hear so badly:¬†“how are you?” “would you like to come sit with me?”

Where ever you’re at, God is willing to meet you exactly where you’re at.

Now, I know that I will not be able to reach every woman out there, but as Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta said “if you cannot feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” I keep these women close to my heart in prayer because I know that It is God¬†alone who heals. ¬†In my littleness, I look to God in humility, because without Him I am incapable. ¬†I know that truly, God will bring her the true comfort and¬†love she longs for.

“My whole strength lies in prayer and sacrifice, these are my invincible arms; they can move hearts far better than words, I know it by experience.‚ÄĚ – St. Therese of Lisuex

As we begin this journey to empower each other as women, I see God working through each and every one of us Рcalling us to bring love & encouragement to one another.  We are like an ever-growing tree & as branches are being built we can grow together by reaching out to one and other in love.

Let us spread the light that God calls us to.  Lift each other up, not bring each other down.  Rise in love & celebrate beauty.  Compliment each other. Smile at each other.  LOVE each other.  The world needs more of that.

Let us always surround ourselves with the love we deserve, for we deserve nothing less.  We were created for love.  May we find ourselves in getting to know and love those around us.  For it is in finding the true beauty God that we will find the true beauty in ourselves.

Your light is meant to be shared, not contained. By passing on this light, we can begin passing it on from a friend to a sister, from a sister to a mother, from a mother to a father, from a father to a son, from a son to a stranger.  And together, we can light the whole world.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet, & a LIGHT for my path” – PSALMS 119:105
